Change the way you see Beauty

Our world is obsessed with everything beautiful. From our stone age ancestors up until the modern day, society has its own ideals on what is 'beautiful'. These trends have changed with the times, but one thing remains: if you don't conform to the ideal, then you are not 'beautiful'.

We judge people on their physical aesthetic daily, whether we realize it or not. It is rooted in our instincts that beautiful = better. It means health and better genes to be passed on to offspring. This subconsciously influences how we see others, and also tends to influence how we treat other people.

Take this for example:

A scar. Scars are unwanted and considered "ugly", a blemish, or something that should be removed or hidden. But scars are proof of your body's amazing power to heal itself, why would anyone consider that ugly?

It's all a societal ideal, that a beautiful person has not a scratch on their perfect skin. But normal people are not perfect. The true beauty about humanity comes from each of us being unique and different, as well as from being ourselves.

So accept your scars (perhaps figurative ones and literal ones), and learn to love yourself and others regardless of whether or not they conform to the idea of "beauty". Change your perception of beauty, and learn to accept beauty in all its forms.

Speaking of the changing the way you see things, have you heard how the Huawei P9 can change the way you see mobile photography? Huawei P9’s camera is co-engineered with Leica and has dual lenses that produces high quality photos and allow users to take amazing monochrome, slo-mo, colored, light painting photos among others. Sounds like a great camera phone to me.

What about you? What are your thoughts on the idea of beauty?

Change the way you see Happiness

Happiness is something that everyone wants, yet not many people can say they are truly happy. Have you ever wondered what happiness really is though? Does it really differ from person to person?

Happiness is one of what psychologists call "universal emotions". Across cultures, languages and other barriers, every single human being can recognize happiness. Happiness is characterized by a smile on someone's face.

If happiness is something as simple as a smile, what makes it so hard to achieve? Personally, I think it's because of expectations. We all have our own ideas of what brings "happiness" and this may in turn, lead us to believe that we won't be happy without that certain 'thing'. Some may think happiness is being rich and famous, while others may believe that happiness is having children. One person may think that he will never be happy without the "love of his life", while another may see happiness as climbing the corporate ladder. The road to these things is not easy and this makes happiness hard to have. But why complicate something as simple as happiness?

Happiness comes in many different forms, both big and small. It comes in all sorts of shapes and sizes and may appear differently for all people. But happiness is not just one thing for one person. We have to learn to accept happiness in ALL FORMS. This is how we'll achieve happiness.

This is how I realized how simple happiness really is. When I learned to see the blessings I already have, and learned to be content, I finally realized that happiness isn't that far at all. We just have to learn to see it.

Speaking of seeing things, Huawei P9’s camera is co-engineered with Leica and can change the way you see mobile photography. It has dual lenses that produces high quality photos and allow users to take amazing monochrome, slo-mo, colored, light painting photos among others.

What about you, what is happiness to you?

Change the way you see Adventure

What comes to mind when you think of adventure? Some might think of a hike up a mountain or doing something dangerous and thrilling like sky diving. Others may refer to something as simple as getting lost or visiting a new area as an adventure as well. If you're like me and are an avid reader, an adventure would call to mind an epic journey full of trials, monsters and discoveries.

Recently, I've realized that sometimes even a simple walk could turn into an adventure. My boyfriend and I were walking when we decided to take notice of our surroundings. Though we had passed the same route many times, we suddenly saw the place in a new light. We talked about what ifs and what would you dos, and suddenly our walk was so much more than the usual. If you can use your imagination, anything is possible.

Regardless of whether a simple walk or grand escapade is your definition of an adventure, it all boils down to one thing: PERSPECTIVE.

It all depends on how you see the world. A trip to the grocery store could be an adventure if you wanted it to be, just as well as a road trip could.

It's putting your imagination into action, and seeing the wonder in every day living. In fact, every day truly is an adventure when you think about it. Life itself is an adventure, you just have to change the way you see it.

Speaking of change, the new Huawei P9 can “Change the Way You See Mobile Photography”. Huawei P9’s camera is co-engineered with Leica. It has dual lenses that produces high quality photos and allow users to take amazing monochrome, slo-mo, colored, light painting photos among others.

Whats your idea of an adventure?

Which is better: Comparing Vaseline vs Nivea Whitening Lotion

Hi Everyone!

Around a month ago, I suddenly noticed how the skin on my arms and legs had become very dry. I also realized that certain parts of my skin were darker than the rest of my body; usually the parts under the sun when I'm riding in a car, like my knees. Now, I haven't exactly been as religious with my sunblock as I should have (I slowly stopped after college for reasons unknown), but I knew it would take more than just sunblock to get my skin back to what it was. I figured I needed to find one of those whitening lotions.

I cringe inside just typing that; I have haven't been one to use whitening products. I don't believe being fair is supposed to make people instantly 'prettier' or if those products actually work (those whitening claims can be outrageous!). Regardless, parts of my skin were darker than the rest of me and I needed to even my skin out.

In the department store, these two lotions caught my eye:

L: Nivea White&Repair UV Body Lotion
R: Vaseline Healthy White UV Lightening Lotion

UV? Check. Whitening? Check. Okay, but which one? I decided to get the smallest size of each and finish one bottle before trying the other to see the effects of both lotions in the long (ish) term. Then I could decide which to continue using.

New and Upcoming in the PH: JP Beauty Secrets

Hey everyone!

Late last year, I attended a product launch event of a brand called Jordan's Premier Beauty Secrets. This post is quite late (understatement I know), but it had slipped my mind when the pictures got buried in my files.

Beauty Secrets began in 2004, and is already available in 65 countries. They are known for their range of  products made from Dead Sea materials  like mud, minerals, salts to name a few, and they will soon be launching their products in major malls in the Philippines! How exciting!
