My De’Longhi Christmas Wishlist

Hi everyone!

Are you one of those types of people who love shopping for your home or looking at home decor/appliances? I am. I love dreaming up my ideal home and looking for things I'd love to have in it. I recently came across the brand De'Longhi which sells innovative kitchen appliances. Browsing their products on Concept Specialist’s website, I've been really impressed with a number of their products - some of which I'd like to share with you.

1. Dehumidifier DNC 65 - As an asthmatic, my lungs are sensitive to the type of air I breathe. Things like dust and mold, which grow in warm and humid environments, can easily constrict my breathing and trigger an attack. Having a dehumidifier in my home would greatly reduce the proliferation of these allergens and would lessen my asthmatic episodes. This one from De'Longhi features three levels of dehumidification power, noiseless operation, an antibacterial filter, a swing function, and an electronic shut off timer up to…

Empties for 2016: Body Products I used up

Hello Everyone!

I'm back with part two of my empties series, which is all about body products. Some of these products are stuff I got from a while back and never got around to using until recently. So please excuse the condition they're in haha!

Shop Globally with Uskoop

Hi Everyone!

In recent years, online shopping has steadily grown grown in popularity as it opens new windows for consumers to buy products. There are many options nowadays to buy products online (especially ones we can't get here!), however I think we can agree that we are still sometimes at a disadvantage. Some sites sell the products at such high rates that you're turned off from buying the product. Also, we can't shop from sites that do not deliver to our home country. Another issue would be computing for the taxes and other fees that come with buying a product internationally. It's such a headache, and I'd rather not have to deal with that.

But what if I told you of a website that lets you shop from US merchant stores, computes the fees from you AND delivers the product straight to you? This is the service offered by USKOOP PH.

Uskoop PH (website: is a one-stop shopping-and-shipping service that also takes care of shipping, customs &a…

Change the way you see Love

Ahhh love, everyone's favorite topic - or not. Depends on where you're coming from.

I think the "idea of love" that most people have is based on media. Romantic movies, love stories and the like, which show love as a "feeling you just get" when you're around that "certain someone". However, what about other types of love? How would you explain those?

Love cannot always be "just a feeling". If it were a feeling, then it follows that love ends when you don't feel those feelings anymore. We've seen this happen with romantic relationships, but what about familial ones and friendship? Are your relationships with these people based on "feelings" only? Of course not. We stick with these people through thick and thin because we ACCEPT them for who they are and STILL CHOOSE to love them. Love then becomes a willing acceptance and a choice to continue loving.

Love is acceptance
I've come to realize this in my own relation…

Change the way you see Beauty

Our world is obsessed with everything beautiful. From our stone age ancestors up until the modern day, society has its own ideals on what is 'beautiful'. These trends have changed with the times, but one thing remains: if you don't conform to the ideal, then you are not 'beautiful'.

We judge people on their physical aesthetic daily, whether we realize it or not. It is rooted in our instincts that beautiful = better. It means health and better genes to be passed on to offspring. This subconsciously influences how we see others, and also tends to influence how we treat other people.

Take this for example:

A scar. Scars are unwanted and considered "ugly", a blemish, or something that should be removed or hidden. But scars are proof of your body's amazing power to heal itself, why would anyone consider that ugly?
It's all a societal ideal, that a beautiful person has not a scratch on their perfect skin. But normal people are not perfect. The true beau…

Change the way you see Happiness

Happiness is something that everyone wants, yet not many people can say they are truly happy. Have you ever wondered what happiness really is though? Does it really differ from person to person?

Happiness is one of what psychologists call "universal emotions". Across cultures, languages and other barriers, every single human being can recognize happiness. Happiness is characterized by a smile on someone's face.

If happiness is something as simple as a smile, what makes it so hard to achieve? Personally, I think it's because of expectations. We all have our own ideas of what brings "happiness" and this may in turn, lead us to believe that we won't be happy without that certain 'thing'. Some may think happiness is being rich and famous, while others may believe that happiness is having children. One person may think that he will never be happy without the "love of his life", while another may see happiness as climbing the corporate ladde…

Change the way you see Adventure

What comes to mind when you think of adventure? Some might think of a hike up a mountain or doing something dangerous and thrilling like sky diving. Others may refer to something as simple as getting lost or visiting a new area as an adventure as well. If you're like me and are an avid reader, an adventure would call to mind an epic journey full of trials, monsters and discoveries.

Recently, I've realized that sometimes even a simple walk could turn into an adventure. My boyfriend and I were walking when we decided to take notice of our surroundings. Though we had passed the same route many times, we suddenly saw the place in a new light. We talked about what ifs and what would you dos, and suddenly our walk was so much more than the usual. If you can use your imagination, anything is possible.

Regardless of whether a simple walk or grand escapade is your definition of an adventure, it all boils down to one thing: PERSPECTIVE.

It all depends on how you see the world. A trip to…

Which is better: Comparing Vaseline vs Nivea Whitening Lotion

Hi Everyone!

Around a month ago, I suddenly noticed how the skin on my arms and legs had become very dry. I also realized that certain parts of my skin were darker than the rest of my body; usually the parts under the sun when I'm riding in a car, like my knees. Now, I haven't exactly been as religious with my sunblock as I should have (I slowly stopped after college for reasons unknown), but I knew it would take more than just sunblock to get my skin back to what it was. I figured I needed to find one of those whitening lotions.

I cringe inside just typing that; I have haven't been one to use whitening products. I don't believe being fair is supposed to make people instantly 'prettier' or if those products actually work (those whitening claims can be outrageous!). Regardless, parts of my skin were darker than the rest of me and I needed to even my skin out.
In the department store, these two lotions caught my eye:

New and Upcoming in the PH: JP Beauty Secrets

Hey everyone!

Late last year, I attended a product launch event of a brand called Jordan's Premier Beauty Secrets. This post is quite late (understatement I know), but it had slipped my mind when the pictures got buried in my files.

Beauty Secrets began in 2004, and is already available in 65 countries. They are known for their range of  products made from Dead Sea materials  like mud, minerals, salts to name a few, and they will soon be launching their products in major malls in the Philippines! How exciting!

How much: I recall I bought this at Php 65-75

Instructions: Apply toner on face prior to use. Apply mask for 15-20 minutes. Gently pat excess essence into skin until absorbed.

Empties: 2015 Make up Products

Hey Everyone!

Whew, where did the year go?! I knew I was supposed to finish this like ages ago, but life always seems to overwhelm me during the last few months of the year.

Anyway, I may as well get on with finishing this empties series with the last post on makeup:
